When she'd heard the news, Rise Kujikawa knew immediately what she had to do.

First, she'd done what any idol who secretly had a boyfriend would do, and followed her schedule like normal: recording some lines for a cameo role in an anime, joining the girls from Kanamin Kitchen to give an interview to another group of up-and-coming idols, and appearing on a famous variety show.

Then, she'd done what any devoted girlfriend would do, and told Inoue-san to cancel anything else she had scheduled for the rest of that day and the next, because she really had to go home. Her manager had looked at her knowingly, but hadn't protested or pressed her about it, which Rise was grateful for. She'd come up with a whole story about her grandmother being ill and needing someone to stay with her for a few days, but she didn't like lying to Inoue-san. But...it wasn't like she could completely tell him the truth either, even if he suspected her real reasons for returning to Inaba.

Regardless of the potential scandal, Rise had quickly packed a bag, donned a low-key disguise, and boarded the next train from Tokyo to Inaba, and a few hours (and several train-transfers) later, she'd stepped off onto the Inaba station platform, breathing in the warm, clean evening air.

She didn't linger too long, however, hurrying first to her grandmother's house (both to greet her grandmother and also to freshen herself up, not to mention change clothes), then making a beeline for the Hanamura residence.

After all, Teddie had texted her that morning to let her know that Yosuke-senpai was so sick that he'd had to stay home from school, and that the rest of the Hanamuras were out of town on some Junes-related business trip, leaving Yosuke and Teddie to fend for themselves. (And Yosuke had "bearly" protested the night before when Teddie had swiped his wallet to go buy Topsicles. So whatever this sickness was, it was something "SUPER grizzly"!) If it was really that serious, Rise decided, then she needed to be there, to help nurse Yosuke back to health.

...Which is why she was knocking on the door to Yosuke-senpai's house at that very moment. ♥

When he'd gone to sleep, he knew he wasn't feeling like his usual self, but he trusted his body to have it sorted by the morning. After all, he was young and energetic - he could bounce back from anything! When he awoke, he found his body did indeed have it sorted. Unfortunately, it had it sorted in a way which decidedly left him useless to the world, unless he wanted to spread his plague out across all of the produce Junes had to offer. Bundled up in all the blankets he could find and desperately ignoring his fever, Yosuke knew immediately what he had to do.

First, he'd done what anyone with the house to themselves would do, and made his camp on the couch with the TV on. He'd watched some silly anime (not as good as Loveline, he decided), and was even lucky enough to catch a few of his beautiful secret girlfriend's appearances on TV, seeing her do an interview and a variety show and enjoying the contrast between her seeming ability to be everywhere at once as well as the contrast between it and his complete lump of a self.

Somewhere after the variety show, he'd drifted in and out of consciousness some - unsurprising, considering he hadn't done much to take care of himself. To his credit though, it wasn't from lack of caring - he just didn't have the energy to get out of bed and get himself medicine, food, or... the other basic necessities of surviving a particularly bad sickness. Somewhere amid his fever dreams, he'd even begun to miss Teddie. Any care the bear provided was sure to be inept, but at least it'd be something.

The knock on the door startled him back to consciousness, and he let out a groan. Leave it to the dumb bear to forget his key on the one day Yosuke didn't want to exist, much less move. With more effort than he cared to admit, he began the much-longer-than-he-remembered trek from the couch to the front door whilst still wrapped in his blanket cocoon. It took him far too long to remember the locks worked, and he opened the door ready to do his best to tell off a bear-

... only to be greeted by the shining face of an angel and completely forget how words work, simply staring at her dumbstruck.

There's the briefest of moments where he wonders if he's still dreaming - if his fevered brain took the TV he watched and his desire to see her again and is giving him one heck of a fever dream. But no, she's definitely real, and a mix of disbelief and happiness flood his addled mind. He didn't bother trying to resist as she pushed him back into the house, and did his best to answer her questions through the congestion.

"Ted? S'covering for me at work." He had to give the bear that at least - though part of him wondered if he'd spend his time trying to 'score with sweet honeys' or something equally ridiculous. Cocoon Yosuke shuffled his way back to the couch, flopping back over onto it and putting on the most unconvincing brave face in the history of brave faces.

"S'fine. You don't have to go out of your way, I'll be alright. I don't want you to get in trouble." He couldn't imagine what she had to cancel to get the time to come over, even for an evening. After all, he'd seen on her two shows that day - two! - and that was before three in the afternoon. If the fever didn't kill him, her legion of fans just might.
